When your child was little and wanted to go play outside, you would go, too. You would show him how to play safely and watch carefully. As he got older, you might have let him go outside by himself, but you stood in the window to make sure he was safe, ready to run out there at the first sign of danger. Then, after some time, you knew he was being safe and was able to just check in from time to time making sure everything was okay. This is NO different. You are the parent. You know how dangerous driving can be. Your teen does not fully comprehend that yet.
All kids horse around. There are hundreds of movies dedicated to teens racing cars and being cool. However, what the movies don't show is the reality of risky driving. Teens are more likely than older drivers to underestimate dangerous driving. Many of these 'cool' kids never come back home.

A growing body of research indicates that close parental management of teen drivers can lead to less risky driving behavior, fewer traffic tickets, and fewer crashes.
In 2008, about 3,500 teens in the United States aged 15-19 were killed in motor-vehicle crashes.
Just like reviewing a school report card for good grades, using the CarCheckup system will allow your teen to prove that they are a safe and responsible driver.
Teens are more likely than older drivers to underestimate dangerous situations or not be able to recognize hazardous situations.
In 2008, half of teen deaths from motor vehicle crashes occurred between 3 p.m. and midnight and 56% occurred on Friday, Saturday, or Sunday.
63% of teenage passenger deaths in 2008 occurred in vehicles driven by another teenager. Among deaths of passengers of all ages, 19% occurred when a teenager was driving.
Not only are good grades great for your future, they can also save a lot of money on insurance premiums.
